About Amy Christine Wallace
I’ve been writing songs for most of my adult life, although for a long time most of them never made it much farther than my living room.
I started writing music when I was young, first on piano and later on guitar. Over the years, songwriting became one of the ways I processed what I was experiencing and worked through questions of faith, trust, grief, hope, and worship. Some of the songs I am recording now were written more than twenty years ago. Others have grown out of much more recent seasons of my life.
I write songs about the questions, the waiting, the hard places, and the moments when God meets us. My songs come out of life experience, filtered through Scripture and worship, and the things I’ve had to learn about trusting God when life doesn’t go the way I expected.
For many years, I rarely shared my songs beyond family and friends. I was hesitant to promote my own music, especially in church, and I became accustomed to writing simply because I needed to write. But eventually I began to realize that keeping the songs to myself also meant they could never encourage anyone else.
So after years of writing, I’m finally recording and releasing them, some written many years ago and some still being written now. My hope is that these songs will give people new ways to worship God, whether they are sung in a church, played in a living room, or heard in the middle of an ordinary day or a difficult season.
